3D STEP-UPS

INSTRUCTIONS:
The step-up exercise with a 3d component adds an additional challenge and engages multiple muscle groups.
Start by standing facing a sturdy step, bench, or platform.
Place one foot firmly on the step, ensuring the entire foot is in contact.
Engage your core for stability and maintain an upright posture throughout the exercise.
Push through the heel of the foot on the step and lift your body up, straightening the leg and lifting the opposite foot off the ground.
Lower yourself back down by bending the knee and hip, gently placing the non-working foot back on the ground while returning to the starting position.
Repeat the movement for a desired number of repetitions on one leg before switching to the other leg.
You can add a lateral or rotational component to the step-up itself or add drivers like x-chops to add additional 3-dimensional components to the movements. Adding rotational movement to the traditional step-up exercise enhances coordination and works muscles in multiple planes.
The step-up exercise with a 3-plane of motion component targets the quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, core muscles, and promotes balance and stability.
The exercise can be modified by adjusting the height of the step, adding resistance, or increasing the speed of the rotational movement.
